New site design (Friday, April 12 - 2002, Tetris L)

Vanilla Ice, whom you might know from the Unreal forums, was so kind as to redesign the main page of my site which you are viewing right now.

Lets face it: My webdesign skillz suck and his 0wN. Looks great, right?!

Thanks Vanilla Ice, Ice Baby!!

U2 FAQ back online (Friday, April 12 - 2002, Tetris L)

After it was announced that multiplayer would be stripped from U2 and the release date would be rescheduled the U2 FAQ was outdated and contained lots of wrong info. Since I'm a dedicated multiplayer my focus was on the UT2003 FAQ and I didn't have the time to update the U2 FAQ. And rather than spreading wrong info I took the FAQ offline for a while.

Now I've finally found the time to correct the most obviosu errors and put it back online. Do not expect frequent updates in future though. I'll be too busy with the UT2003 stuff.

UT 2003 XGR.com IRC Chat Log(Saturday, April 3 - 2002, Tetris L)

XGR. com webradio held an interview with James Schmalz from DE tonight and during and after the interview a bunch of DE and Epic folks hung out in the XGR IRC channel and chatted with the fans.

I've taken the huge log of the chat, sliced and diced it, weed out all the crap and put it together in an easy-to-read format. You can find it here:

UT 2003 FAQ(Saturday, March 23 - 2002, Tetris L)

Wow, a lot of news over the last 2 weeks: U2 won’t have multiplayer and is postponed until Xmas 2002. Instead UT2 will be released earlier than expected, in June 2002, under the new name UT 2003.

This announcement instantly 10folded my interest in UT2003, so I sat down and started to read through the info and put together an FAQ. Here it is:

The unofficial pre-release UT2003 FAQ

Expect frequent updates over the next weeks, until the demo and full game is released. :)

Unreal Warfare FAQ(Saturday, January 12 - 2002, Tetris L)

Over the last week I quickly put together an FAQ for Epic's next game Unreal Warfare. Have a look at the first version 1.0 here.

To clear up some of the confusion that was caused by Infogrames' announcement of UT2 the other day, I'll probably also put together a UT2 and UC FAQ. Check back here next weekend; I should have a first draft up then.

Unreal Cleaned moved host(Saturday, January 12 - 2002, Tetris L)

Due to a major overhaul my former host Unreality has suspended service for all hosted sites. Consequently I had to make a step that has been in the planing for a while already:

Unreal Cleaned has moved to BeyondUnreal! Time to update your bookmarks/favorites. :)

BeyondUnreal is a project 'by the Unreal fans for the Unreal fans'. BU is non-commercial website run and supported by many Unreal scene veterans. Expect more to come from BU in future. I'm glad and proud to join the BU team. All praise BU!

Thanks to Preacher and the rest of Unreality for almost 2 years of hosting. Good luck for the future of Unreality; whatever you're up to.

Forum opened(Friday, September 14 - 2001, Tetris L)

I added a forum as a place to ask questions, discuss and spam general nonsense. You can post without registering

My clan [$FCE2] Respawn Inc. was so kind as to host the forum. Thanks m8s. :)

Site Facelift(Friday, September 14 - 2001, Tetris L)

Not much to say: Same site content, new look. The "U2 Gallery" button is still dead, but should go live tomorrow.

A moment of Silence(Tuesday, September 11 - 2001, Tetris L)

Today more than 5000 innocent people lost their lives in a shocking act of cowardice. All my sympathy is with the people who were injured, the friends and families of those who died and with the whole American nation. (I'm German.) As for the terrorist: I hope they burn in hell as they deserve.

UT Cleaned is dead; long live U2 Cleaned
(Monday, September 10 - 2001, Tetris L)

More than 7 month since the last update on this site. The counter has hit the 80'000 meanwhile, but as you may have noticed, I do not maintain the UT FAQ any more. Please do not e-mail me with any UT related questions or comments any more. I have retired from UT and don't wanna hear about it any more. ;)

On a personal note, I have changed name for several reasons. Cleaner is now "Tetris L". Too bad that I named this site "Cleaned", so I'll never get rid of the name completely. ;)
The big news for today: I'm proud to announce that I have compiled a new FAQ, this time for the next big game in the Unreal series, the much anticipated Unreal 2. The FAQ is basically a big collection of quotes from interviews and previews. Have a look:

The unofficial pre-release Unreal 2 FAQ

Post any comments, corrections, suggestions and flak in this thread on the official U2 forum, or simply mail me.
This site should get a major design overhaul later this week, turning it from a UT site into a U2 site. Don't go away ... ;)

Thank you all!!!(Sunday, January 27 - 2001, ©leaner)

I'm proud to see that after about 10 month the UT Cleaned counter is about to hit the 50000. That's an average of more than 150 visitors per day and I hope most of them found useful information here.

Thanks to all of you for establishing UT Cleaned as the UT FAQ on the web. :)
After a long time of no updates I have made some additions to the FAQ (aimbots, demos, IRC, ...). I also plan to update especially the links section over the next week; eliminating dead links and adding tons of new useful links that I've collected over the last 3 month.
I'm still playing UT daily and this site won't go down for at least another 6 month. Stay tuned!

Minor update(Sunday, October 1 - 2000, ©leaner)

You better don't expect a major update. I guess there won't be any anymore. But I'll change or add a line here and there every few weeks until I stop playing UT. And that should be at least 6 more month. :)

No news is good news ;)(Tuesday, August 1 - 2000, ©leaner)

Still not much happening here. Did a minor update and added a bit of stuff. Expect a bit more when the new patch is out or the new CTF/e version is out.

I’m still alive(Sunday, June 11 - 2000, ©leaner)

It was very quite around UT Cleaned the last 2 month. Not that an FAQ is something that needs a daily update. But 2 month without a word is a long time … was too busy playing UT, hehehe. =)
Corrected and added a few things to the FAQ and the weapon guide now.

Minor site update(Thursday, April 6 - 2000, ©leaner)

Not much to say: Same site content, new look. The "U2 Gallery" button is still dead, but should go live tomorrow.

FAQ extended and split(Sunday, March 26 - 2000, ©leaner)

I have added more info to the weapons and items section and to the keybinding and alias section of the FAQ. To reduce the download time, I split these parts and the links from the FAQ and made them separate site sections

OT: The CTF/e FanClub opened(Thursday, March 23 - 2000, ©leaner)

This is kind of “off topic” for this site, as it is not related to UT Tips ‘n’ Tricks at all. But I love this mod and feel like it doesn’t get the attention it deserves. So I want to do something to pimp this great imprevement for UT CTF gameplay.

In case you don’t know it yet: CTF/e is CTF, as it should have been right out of the box:

Focused on fairplay and teamwork!

Thank you!!! =)(Thursday, March 23 - 2000, ©leaner)

Thanks to all of you, who have let me know, how much you like the FAQ. The response is great, much more, that I hoped for. This is really encouraging me to keep working on the FAQ and to expand the site. Expect some more from me to come.

I hope, those of you, who sent me emails over the last few days, understand, that I can not answer each one individually. Be sure I read and appreciate all of them, but there are really a lot and I’m sure, you want me to work on the FAQ and not to chit-chat, right? ;)

Broken Links =((Monday, March 20 - 2000, ©leaner)

An other error happened in the conversion of the pages from DOC to HTML format: Pathes are not converted correctly; the backslash “\” is not replaced with the slash “/”. This doesn’t matter to MS-InternetExplorer, but Netscape users will get a broken link error and will probably also not be able to see any images on this site. I have corrected the most important pathes manually for the start, but not all of them.

Attention Netscape users!
If you get a broken link error, check the path for “\” and replace them with “/”.

I’m working on a fix. MN@êR%*VID F*** Bill G**** &Co. L

VRML =((Sunday, March 19 - 2000, ©leaner)

I appologize, that some of you will have problem with the download of a large VRML module. It is not required for viewing this page, but my editor adds the code automatically. I’m aware of this problem and working on a fix.

The FAQ is online!(Sunday, March 19 - 2000, ©leaner)

Welcome everybody! Some of you may know me from UT forums, where I’m a regular poster. Getting tired of reading the same questions again and again on these forums, I started collecting all the answers and compiling them into an FAQ. That was 4 month ago.

Over the weeks, this FAQ has grown huge. As far as I know, it is now the most comprehensive FAQ about UT available on the web. Beginners will find tons of useful information and even the most experienced UT gamers should learn something here and there.

It will probably never be finished, but I’m satisfied enough with it for an initial release and so I’m glad and proud to announce that it is finally online, hosted on Unreality.

As you can see from the menu, I plan to expand the site with more sections soon, but the FAQ is clearly the core of this site, that I will concentrate on and update regulary.
